Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurse

GENERAL DUTIES

·      Provide assessments and therapy for individuals and families of a                  caseload identified by the Medical Director

·      Provide cognitive/behavioral therapies

·      Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling and conduct group       therapy

·      Monitor and follow-up care

·      Involvement with consumer’s family, health care practitioner and others

·      Develop and conduct health care education to staff and consumers

·      Prescribe and dispense psychotropic medications in conjunction with the      Medical Director and Center protocols for Advance Practice Nurses and        Center policies and procedures

·      Participate in the treatment planning and stability of the consumer

·      All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

·      Masters Degree in Nursing with a completed graduate course in                    pharmacology from an accredited institution

·      New Jersey Nurse Practitioner Certification with Psychiatric specialty

·      Knowledge of community resources and agencies

·      Valid driver’s license with MVR acceptable to CCGC standards

·      Willingness to work forty (40) hour flexible weekly schedule
